About Lower Farm Bed and Breakfast Northamptonshire
Lower Farm is a small arable farm situated in the picturesque village of Barnwell, near Oundle, Northamptonshire. The farm is located at one end of the village in Barnwell All Saints and has direct access to the Nene Way making it an ideal base for tourists wishing to take advantage of the excellent network of footpaths and cycle ways within the local area. Barnwell is just off the A605 and is an ideal location for business travellers looking for alternatives to hotels and has the added benefit of secure off road parking for guests during their stay.
The Farm has been owned and farmed by the Marriott Family since the 1920’s.The farm is today managed by brothers Robert and John Marriott.
In 2008 plans were agreed enabling us to diversify into the bed and breakfast business by converting a number of redundant farm buildings. The buildings were formerly used to stable livestock, for storage of ancillary farming equipment and materials, and were also part of the old dairy when the farm operated a milk business.
In 2011 the renovation work was completed and there now stands ten modern guests rooms situated around a central landscaped courtyard which provides a pleasant outdoor seating and relaxation area.
Alongside the rooms is a purpose built timber clad residents lounge dining and kitchen unit designed to complement the existing farm buildings. The bedrooms and guest areas have been converted to a high specification and make use of the latest renewable technology. All rooms have freeview televisions and WIFI access.
Robert’s wife Caroline manages the day to day running of the bed and breakfast and would be delighted to answer any questions that you might have before or during your stay.
